Hey all,
My fuel pump will not come on. I dont have 12V at the fuel pump relay but the fuses are good. The fuel pump quit working after my car was boosted and a bunch of electronic components were fried. All of the faulty components were replaced except for the Airbag module. The fuel pump works when the relay is jumpered. I am wondering if the car has an automatic fuel shutoff tied to the airbag module in the case of an accident.

there is a fuse #18(25A) in the main fuse box that supplies the powe to the relay. now the relay also gets the trigger signal from the ECU. if there is no power at pin 30 at the relay, than its the fuse, if there is no power at pin 86, than its the ECU.

I am missing the trigger signal from the ECU. If I jumper the output of the fuel pump relay the car runs fine. If the ECU failed wouldnt the car not run at all?
Is there any other electronics in the car that would prevent the ECU from energizing the fuel pump relay?

Aprox hox much for the ECU?

the ecu has many independent sub modules that control different things. if one fails, others might still be working. you will probably need a new or rebuilt ECU, but first make sure ECU is the problem. then, check out www.directauto.com they can rebuild the ecu for cheap or www.pgauto.com might have a used one for cheap as well.
