oil on spark plugs

So I was changing my spark plugs today and noticed a couple of the plug's thread pretty much soaked with oil. Is it normal to have a little oil in there? or is something broken? Thanks

you should replace your valve cover gasket. the kit includes the spark plug hole seals, which are the reason for the oil around the plugs.
