View Full Version : JVC aux input adapter

Ok, so I want to hook up my mp3 player to the aux input for my JVC KD-SHX700 head unit. I found out I need an adapter cable for this that plugs in the cd changer input and has two female rca plugs at the other end. My manual says I need the JVC adapter KS-U57, listed on their site for $50, which is way more than I'm gonna pay. I looked on ebay and I found a similar cheapie brand cord for $23 shipped. The thing is, the JVC unit looks like this:

The plug appears to be the same (there were very close up pics for the ebay one), but what the hell is the box on the JVC one? I can send a weak enough signal I don't need a line level adapter, I can't imagine the voltage needs to change so is there any reason not to get the ebay one?

Well I ordered it from eBay, $20 shipped. Doesn't seem like there's any interest, but I'll post how well it works if anyone wants to hear.
