Has anyone tried Lucas Oil Stabilizer? Well, since our shop has them by the gallon, I thought I might try them.
I used 1:5 ratio to the oil (AMSOIL Hi Perf), and drove for a good 3000 miles so far. I put them on both of the cars: 2000 AUDI 2.8L and 2000 SLK 230K.
Here is what I notice, during a cold start, you eliminate all the 'ticking' noise (timing chain, valve train etc). The RPM spike at cranking is also lower than usual.
Now, I am not an engine expert but I also know engine wear occurs mostly during a cold start. This seems to help a lot!
Anyone else has tried this product?
