you have to pull the whole airbox off the engine (just pull it off with your hands). once you have it off, then unscrew the torx screws on the underside.

So this torx screw is the flower design right? What number to use?

not too sure, i just bought the multi-size one. has like 7-8 torx heads in a pocketknife-like holder.

I received my air filter a couple of days ago and I just tried removing the top part of the air box. (c43 1999)

What size torx screw do I use? I have a set of tool box and it seems T-25 is too small and T-27 is too large?
If I assume right I should get a X mm size torx screws do I? WHat size?

I realized there is a screw right on top of the engines and the gap is very very small between the engine and the air box.
Anybody with previous experience?

Thanksss

Ive seen a few different setups for air intakes. With my 95 c36 AMG i completely removed the air box and positioned my custom cold air intake at an angle and it seems to do ok, but still i dnt like the fact its still taking on hot air from the engine.

Whats the best way to set it up? I tried leaving the bottom of the air box on and going that route but that was worthless.

What about running direct conduit to the air intake slots on my front end? I know others have done this?

Ideas?

Here it is,

Check out koolvin's, Jeff's, or Slammed C intake setup. :)

Koolvin's Car on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4507351841)

Here is SlammedC and mine. (http://www.club202.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6695)

Jeff actually routed his from the lower bumper to create dual air ram into his intake. I couldn't find his pictures. Hopefully someone will post them here.
