Engine Coolant light comes on and off

My Engine Coolant light comes on and off, it sfull of cooland but the light is one and sometimes goes on, it has been on solid for the past couple of weeks now, its anoying, does anyone know who to fix it, or what might be the cause of it?

Check the connector to the sensor on the side of the overflow tank. Probably corroded. Clean it up, or replace as necessary.

as stox said, faulty or corroded sensor. its located on the side of the expansion tank.

Which side? left or right?, I looked for and i cant find it

is your windshield reservior light also on?

Because a faulty windshield reservior level sensor can trip both coolant and windshield fluid lights to come on

no that light is off, only the coolant light is on ,I was looking for the sensor but i cant locate it

coolant sensor is on the thermostat housing,

Remove plastic cover, and you should se it

coolant level sender is located at the bottom of the expansion tank. it is being held in place by a "O" clip and the connector should be visible as well(its the only set of wires connected to the expansion tank).

when I said on the thermostat I was thinking temperature sensor.
