...every now and then Mercedes Benz finds a way to remind me why they deserve having people hate them. How much would you expect this 3' piece of plastic to cost?

This is the "bumper joint" (as it's called on the receipt) that fits into the bottom opening of the C43 AMG front bumper. :ermm: Is it just me or does $255 seem a -- ahem -- "bit excessive" ?!?

either it was stolen
or
it fell out from a combination of a) me loosening it by kicking the bumper to get the left foglight to come on (grrr...) and b) the wife knocking it out by parking the car too close to the curb, pushing the bumper up, and thus resulting in that plastic piece dropping out ...

...one or the other. ;)

LOL ... let's keep this going!
:werd:
Did you all know Mercedes won't warranty a replacement part that was replaced under warranty...?
I can hear you now ... "woe, what the f**k does that mean...". ;) Well that's an exact quote of what Mercedes said to me. Here's the scenario...

1) Let's say you have to replace a part -- let's say the AMG Exhaust -- that was damaged by some SOB rear-ending your car ... Part's replaced by insurance. Bought from MB Parts department.

2) Exhaust # 2 is put on the car.

3) The brand new AMG exhaust starts rattling/resonating to high heaven. After many trips to the dealership they finally recognize and admit the replacement exhaust is faulty, and it is replaced under the "parts replacement warranty".

4) Exhaust # 3 is put on the car.

5) The low and behold, several months go by and =that= exhaust starts rattling/resonating to high heaven. It TOO is defective!

So does MB replace that part, [AGAIN!]? Well they didn't want to! They said, and I again quote, "Mercedes won't warranty a replacement part that was replaced under warranty". They were actually going to make me =pay= to replace it again, because they gave me not one, but two, defective parts. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luck was with me, as my entire car was still under warranty. So MB said they'd replace it under my car's warranty.

6) Exhaust #4 was put on the car.

I'm sure that I had a habit of leaving some nice tips for the folks working on my car helped me out too. But can you imagine the fight I would have had if the car was out of warranty, I wasn't a generous man, and they wanted me to pay a second time for something after giving me two pieces of shit of the same thing before it?

....this is MB policy...

....some people's kids I tell ya....

Extremely tempted. I am stick of getting smoked by STIs days in days out at the track. On top of that, we also worked on these STIs all day long!

How's yours running?

CKlasse, Under Pressure, I was going to by a Forster XT for my daily driver... but after spending money on a speedybenz suspension, 5.4L engine swap & LSD, the wifie won't let me spend the money for the FXT anymore! :embarr: ;)
