I swear I have the weirdest problems with my car!!

So yesterday I was driving when my CEL comes on....followed by the engine going into limp mode.

I pull over, restart, and the engine reverts to normal, with the CEL still illuminated.

So i've had my fair share of CEL occurances, so I bought an OBDII reader a while back cuz I got used to seeing the CEL. I figure i'll read the codes that night to see what's up this time. (sad, I know!).

When I got home from work I setup the laptop and when I was attempting to connect my OBDII interface to the car, I was not feeling any connection there!

It turns out the OBD connector on the car either broke, or got loose and became separated from the frame of the bottom panel. So it is loose inside the bottom of my dash. WTF?!!

So now I need to fix the OBD port before I can get to the bottom of the original problem!!

Anyways,

I am guessing all I need to do is unscrew the bolts on the bottom of the dash and it will allow access to the OBD port?

Has anyone had this happen before?

Crazy I tell ya.

Take out the 2 screws and see if there are any loose connections.

Too many tuning on your car eh?
after all, plugging your laptop everyday to adjust the turbo boost will make the connection worn out!

Hmmmm......

I guess I COULD test my "full coverage" this way....

:p

Thanks Susanto, i'll try it and hopefully confirm it's just loose and not broken!

Youa re right though, messing with the A/F mixture on a constant basis may not be good if i keep disconnecting the cable. I may as well leave it in :p

Just an idea, just keep your laptop inside the car and when you need it (if the golden saturn wagon ever see you again), then bring it on!!!!!
This way the connector is always good and you always ready to kick it up a notch!

It's scarry to hear your BOV when you shift!!! :bandit:

Oh, funny you mention, but I saw the wagon again a couple of weeks ago. The guy lives like 5 minutes away and I saw him gassing up one time. I was just driving by the gas station so he didn't see me.

Looks completely stock. Only sign of somthing out of the ordinary is the dual exhaust. Crazy!
