Hi guys just wondering how long do 202's usually last in terms of mileage?

Its funny cause when I got the car with 87000 miles on it, lots of people were telling me that the kompressor usually goes wrong around 100000. But i've been driving it for like 40,000 miles with no problems.

And now i've been thinking about trying to sell my car before things start really go wrong.

Should i sell my car soon or should i just try to keep it in good condition and will it last me another 100000?

I love the car.

From what I've read supercharger failure is difficult to predict.

My dealership told me they have never replaced one, but they could be lying. The cost, even from the dealer, is not too bad considering it's a Mercedes. I know that Saab turbos and Audi turbos are insanely expensive.

I think 100,000 miles is typically where all cars start to have problems of one sort or another. I think the transmission is a greater $$$ risk than the blower.

it is very unlikely the SC would need replacement at 100....especially if your running standard boost...unless....

-one reason for loss of SC life would be bad filtration by your filter....you may check the SC lobes by removing the pressure side of the SC....

as a reference, mine are alittle damaged from all the modification i made around the SC,but it hasn't made a whole heap of difference to boost pressure.....possibly alittle initial boost was lost.

and im pretty sure the SC isnt cheap.....here MB sells it for $2300NZD

if the tranny dies would there be a way to put in the 2k tranny or an e55amg 2002 tranny into a pre facelift?

turbos are expensive to replace BUT they are not that expensive to "rebuild" even to replace a turbo with a larger turbo is not that expensive, just replace it with a used rebuilt one

when I was first getting into turbocharged cars along time ago. the price tag on new turbos were over $1,000. but a rebuilt performance one runs under 500, and to rebuild one is even cheaper... that is if the compressor wheel is still in good shape
