I always use K&N air filter drop-ins for my cars. It looks like the some of you used it, did you see any noticeable increase in performance at all, especially on a '99 c280? I did a search and come up with mixed answers...

im sorry to say that a K&N air filter is NOT for a w202 at all... within a short period of time you will probably have to replace your MAS due to the K&N filter getting it wet... and if you go to the dealer it will be upwards of $300-400

...in addition to that the K&N air filter does NOT show any HP gains on a dyno... so why risk it ?

This is not true, just dont over oil it like a 13 year old boy, carress it like a woman... ;)

I have ahad K&N for some time now, im fine, the mercedes MAF is a bitch anyways, and they are cheaper to buy online, why go to the stealership when importec.com has them for less?

I would highly recommend a home made intake, much cheaper and much more effective.

True... The main thing is when you got the filter out of the packaging, let it dry for an hour or so. Since KNN moved its facilities to abroad, its qualities have gone down :( They tend to over oil the filters.
