View Full Version : need new tires any recommondations?
Like the topic says, I need rear tires for my C43. I currently have Kumho Escta MXs and was wondering if I should stick with those or should I get another set o rear tires. I really wanna go with some SO-3s but they're $$$ and I don't have enought to change all 4. My fronts are ok and I was thinking that mebe just get another set of the MXs for the rears and then when the front and the rears wear out next time go with the SO-3s.
On a side note, What other tires would you recommend when I get a new set? Like I said I want SO-3s, but I'm also thinking of getting the RE750. They're not as Performance oriented, but they seem to be better over all as a everyday tires. OR even teh Goodyear F1s

nitto nt555 are quite good, however might be pricey(at least here in hawaii, probably cheaper in mainland). also, michelin pilot sport are ok, bridgestone so-3 are very good, and IMO the most comfortable performance tire.

For highway noise and look reasons, I have always gone with BF GOODRICH Gforce

For those on a medium budget, I highly recommend checking out either the Nitto NT555 or Yokohama AVS ES100's - both are great tires for their price.

i had yokohamas es100 and didnt like them. they so loud. i have no idea what kinda of road you have to drive on not to hear them. annoying tires;.
as a replacement to try it out i bought Pirelli PZero Nero M&S. not bad i say. excellent in rain, good on dry and not too bad in snow. design is good too.
oh yeah price is decent.

I asked a similar question previously and gotten a few recommendations.
I eventually got the Falken ST115s on my 17s, and they're so quiet. I have them on for less than 1000 miles, and so far have been very impressed by the very low noise (almost non-existent on the highway). The grip is very good too.
Hope this helps.

Etienne-
I just got a flat today on my rear passenger tire. I've checked the tread wear and it's nearing 7/32's on the rear and 8/32's on the front. I've decided to get new tires instead of trying to patch the flat one, and I noticed you haev Goodyear Eagles F1's. I;ve heard great things about these- (like they have the best wet handling of all summer tires) Can you give me some info on what you think of them? Thanks alot-

Wow- after reading up on these Avon's, they seem like a great tire. They were rated 2nd in Tirerack's testing for ultra-high performance summer tires and got good reviews. Sounds like they may work out nicely.
