hi
was kinda wondering is it normal for C36 to have sort of synthetic/funny feeling in steering. like its not direct. I know before i head a dead spot at the center (meaning turn 1 inch either way and wheels dont more like its dead) but i changed steering links and its better now.

but still that funny feeling like grinding/buzzing i dont event know how to describe. its very subtle but you can feel it when when making turns from side to side.

also anyone can tell me how to fix driver seat head rest. it popoff out of track. i hear motor buzing but head rest doesnt go up. its loose. sometimes it sort of catches and goes up but when you hit a bump it falls out.

I have a 97 C36,
I don't know what grinding/buzzing that you're talking about.

The steering is not as tight as E36 M3 for sure, but nothing like dead-feeling in the center. 1.5" movement on the steering is a lot.
You should definitely feel the 1.5" turn on the steering wheel, plus all C36, has faster steering ratio compare all other model non-AMG W202..

It's a steering wheel play. Check your steering fluid.
