OBD II codes ???

got my self a code reader but i has nothing about merecedes in the manual

anyone know what these codes are

P0341
Activation requirement CHECK ENGINE lamp:
--Two consecutive trips with fault.
Activation of CHECK ENGINE lamp:
--At start of next trip.
Test to detect fault
--The engine control module checks if the number of TNA pulses (crankshaft segments) between two camshaft pulses equals the number of cylinders. The number of crankshaft segment rear edges in one camshaft revolution must equal the number of cylinders. If irregularities are detected, a message is sent to the diagnostic module via CAN. A fault is recognized after approximately 2 seconds.


P1747 CAN signal from ETC

A. CAN failure: Transmission protection malfunction from transmission control module

B. CAN failure: Instrument cluster

CHeck your ground. Both codes are usually set off by 'ungrounded' sensor or simply corroded ground.

P0341 is set off when the crankshaft sensor doesn't return the right signal.

P1747 the TCU is shorted or ungrounded.

Between the two, I would look toward your ecm connections too.

But seriously, I think CKlasse's diagnosis is on the money. If you're lucky, all you will need to do is clean a connection.

the transmission code wouldnt have anything to do with that my transmission is not the original one ? plus this is a universal scanner what if its not compatiable there is no check engine light on my dash i was just doing this for fun car runs fine.

my wallet is beyond light right now i just bought amg 17", mirrors and had them painted, now my a/c is acting up could and should bought a C43 by now.

The codes could be leftover from service done previously. Clear them and see if they reappear.

yep code where right on the money i need to get a new crankshaft sensor soon its starting to fail

going to be a busy week I just got off a moding
list of repairs I need to do;

correct rear camber
a/c condenser
a/c dryer
camshaft position sensor

car has been pretty good, i though i got the crankshaft postion sensors fixed when i replaced the broken clip i figured it was getting set off because it lost the connection

where are the ground wires for this sensor

what is the parts number for a 1997 inline 6

I have the same error: P1747.

I would like to check for a short, or open ground, but where is the TCU module is located?

i just got these codes pulled too. did anyone fix there problem? was it a bad or corroded ground?
