Ok so I've had the car lowered for about 2 weeks and its been great, but now its harder to drive around town and I was parking in a lot and scraped my bumper over the concrete block infront of the parking spaces. The thing is that I didn't notice that I scraped it at first so when I was leaving, the bumper got caught on the concrete block thing and almost pulled my bumper off! So now there is a gap between the fender and the bumper on teh passenger side. There is no crack or anything, but it doesn't line up with the fender. Can I realine it? Do i need to just pop off the bumper and see if i can realine it? Also how much would it cost to respay/ paint the front bumper.

k, well i played with the bumper today and got it realined again. I may want to completely take it off so i can set it properly. also got a quote of $550 to respray the front bumper. Does that sound reasonable?

are you in the sacramento area? my friends have a body shop and they could hook it up with the respray...

if you arent in the sac area... that deal sounds reasonable if it includes... sanding chip/crack repair... primer... and paint...

I'm in SF but my gf goes to school in davis and i'll be moving up there this fall. the quote i got was for everything, sanding and primer and filling in rock chips etc. What kinda deal are we talking about? Ballpark? If its considerably less I'd be willing to wait til the fall. Also whats the quality of work? Does he match paint well? BTW my car is obsidian black so its metalic. Email me ta djkev28@sbcglobal.net if you don't want to post details online

You may of not hit it at first. I had a friend with a similar problem. She barely cleared a concrete block and them almost took her bumper off when leaving.

It seems that to a small degree, when you are driving your car the air in the tire is hot and expanded. This expanded air will, although barely at all, raise your car. After the air/tire cools, then the car may lower enough to catch you on something.
