Over the past five months i stripped the car down to basicly motor and shell....
I installed - Eibach pro Kit + #1 pads
- Eibach sways
- Koni ext adj shocks
- speedy's camber arms
- nolathane inserts in front control arms
- Custom Brembo rotors
In between I also dropped the Diff, rear subframe, gearbox and steering box...
-the diff now has redline synthetic
-the rear subframe got a silver rust stop painting
-the gearbox was pulled apart and de-laminated,cleaned out and re-assembled with new seals and bearings and also now runs redline D4 ATF fluid
- the steering box had a slow leak,so i pulled it apart and fitted new seals,as i found one was incorrectly inserted from the factory!....
- replaced all wheel bearings as i damaged the rear when removing the housing,i replaced the front as they looked slightly worn.
- Replaced rubber gear leaver linkages as one had worn off(very commen i believe)
- Replaced flywheel pilot bearing
- Replaced thrust bearing
- Repaired rear lower arm nuckle rubber boots
- and a small mountain of new lock nuts and bolts through out
the car....
all that is left to do is get an alignment!!...
thankyou to all who have lent a hand when i needed Info...especially to slammedC for all the re-assembly diagrams and additional knowledge.
Regards,
Paul

very nice job, but the rear subframe got a silver rust stop painting, how much would that cost? and did you roll or flare, and if not do you have rubbing?

hey thanks....
while i had the subframe out i noticed small patches of rust on top of the frame...so i sanded it all out, bought some metal primer and silver paint,no more rust:)....
I rolled the front, but it still rubs somtimes when turning where the bumper meets the gaurd...I have already cut metal from there, but it needs more...

sweet!
good work mang!
So how does that eibach sway bar treat you, i was thinking of getting one but not sure on how much it acually helps..
thanks mang,
its hard to tell whether the sway bars made a difference,I would say yes because they are both 2mm bigger in diameter...and that equats to a good increase in rigity....but because i installed everything at once i couldnt comment on how much perfromance increase there was...

speedy benz make sway bars again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey paul,
awesome set up! How's the ride on the #1 pads with the eibach pro kit?
I got some bilstein sports on the way, going to get #1 pads and the eibach pro kit arrived.. will have a kinda similar set up lol don't know what else I will do to steering and suspension, will see what happens when the 20" rims are fitted, odds are I will have to get me some speedy camber arms but we'll see.
Where did you get the custom brembo rotors? this car is going to be so fucking tight when you finish.

Did you get rid of your lumma front bumber??? I thought I remember you having one of those. I've got a home for it if its collecting dust.
BTW. The parts on that car are so clean. Looks great!

this is an old post from when he first upgraded the suspension. he's had the lumma on his car for over a year now.
Man time fly's!....i posted this around 17 months ago!...miss my old house there...big garage, loads of off-street parking.
got a small single garage with two tight offstreet parks now.
yip he's correct...iv still got the lumma bumper on and now have C36 sides too...they are collecting dust!...but hopfully some time before i die they will serve a purpose again:p.
The rotors are custom modified brembo items...nothing too flashy.
the slots are milled down only to the wear limit of the rotor.

the new work wheels(that should have been here this week grr)have been designed to take the Brembo 332mm kit so just maybe if all goes well and im not cut off at the knees over xmas theres a chance ill get them....
the ride is good, but it will depend on what your shocks are like...i have my konis ext set to soft all round...its hard enough for me(the nana)...turn them up and your definalty on rails.
hmmm 20's ay!...watch out for the top of the front tire wells, even my 19's hit there when i turn with little speed...going to be running 225/35 with the new 8.5 front rim...should fix those issues.
camber arms a must!...are you getting the 1.7/1.9 drop eibach kit??..think its 2445.140 off the top'v my head.

Yeah I hope there is no rubbing in the front lol.. I guess I can only see for sure when they are in then see what options I have. Will most probably have to get the fenders rolled straight up but I don't know about the top of the wheel well... Will be going with the 225/30/20. Also more worried about the rubbing on the upper arm? it seems very close!
Cool thanks, no I got the 2532.140, smaller drop compared to the 2445.140 I think? My insurance company only allow a certain height :( did some measurements and it looks like it will be a good height with the #1 pads factored in.

Yeh that damn upper arm nut will definatly be close!...its likely the the area where the bumper meets the gaurd will also give you trouble....i have cut the metal out of that area as it was slicing my tires!...
Yeh i think the other kit does 1.3/1.4 so maybe you wont rub on the wheel well!!...let us know how you get on!:)

What kind of Rims are those on your benz? Axis Milano or Axis Hiro? are the front 19x8.5 and rear 19x9? You said you have Eibach Sportline Springs? are they on the picture as now? how is the ride quality?
hey,
yes there axis milanos...
19x8.5 et35 front 19x9.5 et40 rear.
there currently off thecar now and will be sold
as for the springs(eibach 2445.140 i think)...i like the ride quality of the whole package...it will depend on which shocks you use and if you upgrade your sways also...

Paul had eibach springs, koni externally adjustable shocks (yellows), eibach sways (now discontinued, but H&R still makes theirs..) and custom eurethane bushings. that car probably handles better than a brand new C36 or M3 ever did!
