is this true iv seen it for sale, iv never seen a tiptronic of this age. any one know much out the gear box?

so could it be added to a 97 c280? and well more importantly can the tranny be beefed up to handle more hp, like a lot more

in 1997 mercedes used the same tranny weather you bought a C280 or S500 or S600 they introduced there faulty 5 speed in all there models thats what my mechanic told me when mine blew about 2 years ago, off US shores tip tronic was avalaible in countries like austrailia in 1999

only trannies that were beefed up where AMG cars

so could you change or beef up a c280 tranny, my question would be, what is this tranny rated to... 330? and could it swaped for a tiptronic tranny that could handle up to 500? And do you guys have any price idea on how much that would cost?

odds are the tip tronic could withstand 350hp look at some of the cars it came in. i think it was avaliable in the SLK 32
