Hi guys I know that there are lots of posts about a/c already but i searched all of them and couldn't find what i was looking for so here goes,

my dad is trying to fix my a/c and he tried to put in freon, he tried it in the low pressure adapter but he said the freon wouldn't go in because the pressure against it was too high and he tried turning on the a/c and it still woulnd't work, i'm prettty sure its the low pressure adapter because its behind the compressor. he said that the clutch on the compressor isn't turning and he's wondering what options does he have?

is the cllutch not turning because there's no freon? or is it broken?

if its broken then what should we do then? can we buy just the clutch? or do we have to change the whole thing?

thanks for the info

there should be a copper fitting on the top of the valve cover just nest to the intake tube, this is were i filled my ac system from.if the compressor is not turning, first check the fuses, usually wont come on if the pressure is to low in the system, u have to manually jump the wires to make the compressor kick on. do this while you are filling the system with freon, this will help charge the system faster and build pressure.make sure you dont over fill the system.

good luck.

also check the pressure switch at the same time. this will also hinder the ac from comming on, it's a safty item so u dont burn the ac compressor out.

if its off then your out of freon it a protection feature

pressure should be around 100psi
