3 10" MTX Blue Thunder w/ 500w Alpine V12 amp:

This is far from an ideal setup, but I got 'em cheap from a friend.

Here you can see the amp mounted on the back of the box through the hole I cut behind the armrest. It's mounted this way so I can reach all the controls w/o moving the box.

Here's my JVC headunit with 256 color display. This is a terrible pic, but it's all I have. I believe the picture displayed on the screen is of someone's car here.

Please forgive my ignorance/shtumpidity , but ... I know I.C.E. is this (audio elect.), but what does the 3LA (3 letter acronym) actually stand for?

Wow! what an amazing sound system in the back of your benz. I have a '96 C36 AMG, and I need to install and system like yours. Your system fits so well, it looks as though that's how all mercedes should be. I bet it can blow girls clothes off with ease! Love your ride.

At the time, JL audio does not have W7 or W6v2.
In any case, they sounds too boomie for me.
And then they come up with W7 and W6V2. Even the W7 is still too boomie for me. W6V2 would be closer to what I want but still, they are not tight enough for me.

i test fitting it really quick last week, but the floorboard didnt exactly fit. Do you have to remove the lining first to get the floor in and then put the lining back in, then finally the amp racks? thanks

Wow...I really like that...Did you make the box yourself, or is that a prefab? I was thinking of doing something like that for mine...I've got two alpine type R's sitting around from my old car, and want to get them into my 230.

I made the box for the quart myself. Fiberglass back and an MDF front pannel. Its around 1.2 cu ft, and cost around 50 bucks to make.

hey,
how many rms has the woofer and how does it play.
i got two 500rms rf's 15'' but i wonna go louder but i play in a closed housing, know i'm thinking to put a new rf like you, the power's 600rms in a open housing.
Beau M
10-07-2005, 11:26 AM
Yeah, power handling is rated at 600 rms. The sub section of the belle puts out about 1100 RMS. Almost double, but if you set the gain properly and know how far is too far it wont be a problem. I wouldnt give the sub much more, but it pounds with the power Im giving it. Also, definitly go ported, and tune it low.

Im digging the rear deck Aruba. Did you just ditch the rear headrests all together?
And benzstyler... how does it play? Loud and low baby. It only hurts my ears after extended listening at full tilt. But it sounds awesome, even at full volume. No distortion or muddy crappy bass at all. Flexes the roof and trunk a good bit, I still need more sound deadening on the trunk. My old car hit 141 db.... I havent metered mine yet, but Im expecting to be a little louder than that... mabey 142-143.
