30-40% should be spent on the radio. the rest on speakers, sub(s), and amp(s):D

You can save alot of money if you have friends or know anyone who can assist in installing items.
Try finding someone on this board in your area who is knowledgeable.

well.. what are you looking for in a sound system?
SQ, SQL, SPL???
what kind of music do you listen to?

I listen to pretty much everything
rap on a consistent basis
r and b
soul
jazz
I'm not really sure what those abreviations mean...
Ahmm I just want a nice clean sound where certain things don't overshadow others.
Bass is good but if the sound's not clean then what's the point.

u can get a nice enough deck, higher model pioneer or an alpine for $200-$250
something like the pioneer 7500
if you have the bose system i would just leave it (sounds good enough in my c43)
get a used amp, maybe a jl 500/1 for around $300 or less
get any subs,
-jl w6v2 for $300
-3 jl w0's for around $300
-the older fosgate HX2's sound nice find cheap used
-3 mtx 6000 or 8000's arent bad either
$50 for wiring and rcas
and bam! koo system for $900-$1k

It is because there are no speakers to produce sub-bass sound. Does not matter how you set your EQ, when you don't have subwoofer, you will not get the sub-bass.
