"Vehicle: 1998 Mercedes Benz C 280
Part: Reference Sensor
Select product

Image Product Fits
Reference Sensor
Position : @ flywheel
Interlock : double
Engine: -30 370998
Reference Sensor
Crankshaft position
Interlock single

Engine: -30 370998"

I need a new "CPS" from what I can tell the '98 c280 used 2 diffrent ones?? How do I tell which one of the above sensors is the correct one. Where do I find my engine #? (I'm guessing that "Engine: -30 370998 & Engine: -30 370998" are engine #'s because it's not even close to my vin#. Thanks in advance.............ps I'm talking about the sensor that is located on the back of the engine near the tranny bell housing. Car intermittantly dying/ and intermittantly not starting etc........

I needed the 81.00 one. Swapped it out in 10 min. or less and it's fine. Easy part swap. You'll need an inverted torx t-8 a .25" ratchet and a .25" extension (approx. 12-15"'s) Hope this helps Dr. / Good luck.
