View Full Version : Blower motor causing noise with bose?

I noticed my stereo makes something that sounds similar to alternator noise, but not as high pitched and doesnt change in frequency with engine rpm. It is relatively low in volume and isnt really audible unless the volume is very low, or between tracks etc. This is with the stock MB bose headunit.

This ONLY happens when the blower motor is running. Now one of two things are happening here. Either the Blower motor and radio share a common ground, and the stereo is picking up some of the ac ripple created by the motor, OR, the wiring for the stereo (probably on the signal side heading to the amplifer), is run really close to the motor, and is picking up EMI from the blower motor, at which point the wires need to be shielded better in order to avoid introduction of noise.

Does anyone else have this problem, and has anyone come up with a solution.

Thanks in advance,

George

Hi - I have similar problem but I wasn't sure this is due to the blower motor, I have sent my car to radio specialist, they re-wried all my radio and CD, the situation seems the same. I just order the parts to re-wired the atenna wire connect to the glass and the amplier for radio signal located near the rear glass screen, I was wating for parts arrival see does it help. Hope this help. I can be reached by raywcleung@yahoo.com.hk to discuss.
