DO you have plans for wider wheels as well? Would seem kind of odd if you didnt put in some deep wheels to fill in the fender area. I am not sure if spacers alone to the wheels you have now would look right...

i dont know yet what im going to do. ill see when the fender flares are molded in and painted ill see how it looks!

Make sure that you make them functional; this will require you to cut out some of your original fender so that this piece goes on as a true fender flare. Otherwise its just a flare-look if you are going to leave your original fender area as it is and just put this over it. Also, consider how you are going to have this flow with the lines of your rear bumper. Someone had some flares here on club202, but the werent real in that they didnt actually open up fender area, and the back of the rear fenders didn't match up with the bumpers.

Are those the auto couture flares??

jstrat85
07-03-2005, 06:54 AM
yes they are. i spoke to the company that i got them from and they said that they are going to stop selling them because you need to do custom work to make them fit right!

can you provide the name of this company and their contact nfo?

i got them from this company i think called american rim supply. here is there # 1760 431 3666. they supply things for autocouture so if you want these fender flares they have to custom order them from japan. it takes i think 2 weeks to make them! ask for andrew.

jstart is repping the 202 in the show circuit. I cant wait to see it after fender flares. His car is NICE. The high cost of the flares will be worth it to jstrat and other 202 owners that can appreciate their car's capabilities

- Saturday in Montevale NJ @ MBUSA Headquarters - formal event run by MB - you have to be registered to enter. ONLY MB permitted to enter. :D (well, that's what Pete says ; should be interesting to see it that's the case)
- Sunday is @ the track - casual event - anyone can go.

@ this point I told the wife I was taking that weekend off from husband duties... ;) ; not sure if she'll be coming with. I know a bunch of people are meeting and going together. I'm not sure if I can make those plans tho, as I have to come from a lot farther east on LI, and I'm not the "earliest" of wakers in the morning... I'm sending you an e-mail from this board w/my contact info.

Does anyone have any picture of a W202 with a set of fender flares?

I am thinking about putting larger tires on my C43 and from what I have read on this board, the biggest the car will take are 255 rear (what about front?)

Going wider would require wider fender flares but I'd like to keep the look of the car as clean (and stealth) as possible (something like a 500E would be great).

What are the options?

What are the options? < CLICK ME (http://www.club202.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6284&highlight=wide+body#post56119) > for speedybenz's subtle "wide body" mod. He's running 255's up front and 275's in the rear.

Go to the < top of the thread (http://www.club202.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6284&highlight=wide+body#post56052) > for a close-up of the front fender.

jstrat,

I dont know if these pics will show but its some Mercedes' getting fender flares done right. Maybe you can use them for reference for when the flares are installed on your car. The first three are from a CL Class, and the last is from an SL Class...

wow those look pretty nice, id like them better if they were molded, but thumbs up for sure~

jstrat85
11-22-2005, 06:57 AM
that was my goal to mold them in but the problem with that it was that it was going to crack with all the vibration. that's why i didn't mold them in. but i like it a lot! it makes the car look really aggresive:D

why would it crack? sry if it is a stupid question i just got no clue

jstrat85
11-25-2005, 05:38 PM
Its bondo. they put it around the open areas and that's how they close it, with all the vibration like, ex falling into pot hole ect... its going to crack. do you understand???

i like them unmolded like they are. it gives more of an aggressive, race car look. i dont know why, but molded in takes away from the look. In other words, they look perfect as they are. Congrats on them man.
