I found a set of used wheels, with good tires, but the tires are 235/40/18

Will these work on a 2000 c230k sport with stock suspension?

Thanks in advance,

George

I think they should work.. just as long as your car isnt lowered though.. as soon as you lower it you will most likely have rubbing issues with the front fender.
most guys run 235/35/19's so the overall diameter of your 235/40/18 should be about the same.
what are the wheel offsets?

I used to have 235/40/18 on the rear of my old slammed W202. I would question them in the front on a lowered Benz without rolling fender though

I have 235 17's and they rub on the plastic shroud on the front if you get 225 you wont have this problem mine is stock hight and if you were to lower it you would definatly need to mod the fenders

If your car isnt lowered, dont worry about it. It'll fit forsure without rubbing. My car is dumped and when I had my 18's before, I ran 235/40/18 and it didnt rub at all, but my fenders are rolled.

heres my experience:

As everyone says: Did not lower= no worries.

With H&R suspension ( my front is slammed pretty much ) u can't stuff in "1" finger into the spot : )
I had 225 at first ( front ) it scrapped bad. Then the guy recommended me with 215, now its perfect.

So ur choice, with me, 225 scrapes like mad.

Not trying to step on anyones toes here, but all of your advice is disregarding the wheel, which has far more influence on the fitment than the tire.

I clear a 235/40 18 in the front and a 265/35 18 in the rear. Slammed on H&R's. No rubbing.

care to share your set up?....you also take into account road conditions where you live, some cities take better care of roads than others

You must have the wrong offset on your wheels. 225x40x18 is standard recommendation by all the dealers.

George

I would start by posting the wheel width and offset..

Asking for the tire sizing will be depnd on these 2 factor..offset and wheel's width.

If you have the right tires size for the given offset and wheel width, you woudn't have any rubbing issue.

as I second o ray when youre asking tire sizing, it very closely related to wheel fitment as well.

Look at tires sizing and wheel fitment (witdh, offset, wheel pad * wheel backspacing) as a whole... ;)

it also depends how well your car is aligned and the camber if its lowered. I lowered my car and had 225/35 in the fronts and it did not rub at all. then i got it aligned and the camber fixed and it rubbed like crazy...
