Alpine CD Changer Ejecting Cartridge

i installed an Alpine CHM-S630 6CD Changer in my 98 C280 (non-fiber optic) with a Peripheral adaptor back in September 2003. It's been working fine until about a month ago when it began ejecting the cartridge whenever the radio was turned on. Now, in addition to that, the changer ejects the cartridge in the middle of playing songs at random times. Anyone know what could be causing this?

Old thread, havent been here in ages but id thought i give an update -

i got rid of that PITA cd changer last fall and just opted for a Blaupunkt headunit. apparently, the cd changer was damaged because of all the shock it was experiencing being strapped to the rear deck.

lesson learned: not getting anymore cd changers !

ive had that issue before on the older C220 my mom had back a while.

it would skip randomly. I hate CD changers, One cd is enough for me - or get an MP3 CD player.
