I think this setup is most likely to be similar to a stock intake.

If you are looking to enhance the performance by CAI, then your best bet would be to build/find one where the direct air source would be taken from outside the engine bay. An intake like this one will only take in hot engine air, and could put out less performance than the stock intake.

lets analyze this product shall we ???

It claims it has heatshield... right.. ? But heatshield protect from what...if the air that it sucks came from the engine bay, it will still suck HOT air..

and we all know what HOT air can do to engine..
Basic rules... it will decrease engine efficiency..=== less hp / less power...

if you looks at racing team, and all sport cars, the spent a lot of $$$ to get the optimum intake (cold air intake) to get the best out of the engine..


look at Lamborghini Galardo with its additional side fin for intake at highspeed...

all of these example I mentioned is real Cold air intake, means it suck the air isolated from engine bay (usually fresh air from the outside) just as Denlasoul mentioned.



Please do a search on intakes as well, there have been a lot of discussion with similar intake being sold at ebay...

it's all craps ...if you ask my honest opinion...

i appreciate all of your replies to the subject. i decided to refrain from purchasing the intake and have begun looking into other performance intakes. I've found several from HKS, weapon R, and K&N. I wasn't really fealing the design of the HKS, didn't look very efficient. The weapon R seemed like a good buy. (check it out)

I also did a search for a k&n filter on their website but didn't find any high performance intake kit that would fit my ride. (1994 C280)

I haven't found many tuning upgrades for my model. I was wondering if anyone here could make any great recommendations.

I plan to start with upgrading to a performance intake, exhaust, and chip upgrades to start off. I'll move to the bigger upgrades later on.
