Hello. I have a 2000 C230 Sport Kompressor with the Bose system. When I speed up my volume automatically increases. It bothers me because it changes too much.

Is there anyway I can disable this feature? I looked in the manual and didn't see anything about it. :(

:D :D Sounds good. I guess I'll just go for a new unit. Although I don't need the subs. I listen to Heavy Metal.

How would I go about removing the unit?

why CUTTING a wire when you can just have the speedsensitive volume switched off with stardiagnose????

It is just a software setting that can be changed (99 and up).

Hmmm... I tried removing the unit and I didn't really get anywhere. Are you supposed to take off the trim before removing the unit? I got two screw drivers, and had them both under the lip of the unit, but the amount of force I was willing to use on it didn't even budge it. I was scared I was going to break something.:o

You need radio removal keys to pull out the head unit. You can get 'em relatively cheap from the dealership or off eBay. You just stick them into the two slots at the bottom of the head unit and pull it out.

Try searching previous posts for more info.

1. Pull the head unit out.
2. Disconnect the harness
3. Cut the right wires.
4. Install back the radio/head unit
5. Done and enjoy your mod.

the dealer can enable/disable this function - you probably have it but it isn't turned on.

I had the dealer cut that wire on my 95 and I'm having the dealer turn it off on my 99.

The dealer can set it to raise or not... 2Db-4Db-6Db at 20-40-60mph, or just off. But i wouln't cut anything, and they should do it for less than the cost of the keys
