My check engine light has recently came on and I brought it to an indy mechanic. He checked it out and told me it was the SRS light/airbags setting it off. But the SRS light has been on since i've had the car and never had this problem.
Any thoughts? Need to get it smogged so hope to get it fixed ASAP, Thanks

If they run an OBD-II test and your check engine light is on, you will not pass the emissions test.

The SRS light is on my car and the airbag setting is off since I changed my front to seats to some Momo ones. I believe it was when I unpluged the original front seats from the bottom

Im not sure the two lights are related in anyway. When the shop hooks it up to SDS what are the error codes?
As for unhooking the seats triggering the SRS malfunction, it is my understanding if the light is on your air bags will not work if in a crash.
