View Full Version : Did I put things on backwards

After an unfortunate problem putting shocks and springs on my car, I payed to get everything put back to the way it was.

It seems, however, that the front of my car is higher than the back. What is this due to?

I know that springs are on right, because they can only fit in their respective cups, but I have more concern for the shocks.

The Bilsteins are marked with either a "H" or a "V". I put the "V" shocks on the front and "H" shocks on the back. Is this correct or backwards?

The shop manager said that it was due to my previously lower suspension and would just take some time to adjust back.

As of this morning, however, my front seems higher than my rear.

What's the deal? Can anyone help?

V = vorne = front
H = hinten = back

Do you have picture of your car?
did you check your spring pads?

Thanks a lot! That will make me sleep a bit easier.

The spring pads for my car were all #2's. I don't think I mixed them up. As I remember, the front springs could only fit in the front spring pads, etc.

keep in mind the wheel well gaps will not be even. If you follow the sill panel it should be level. Mine is the same way it looks higher in the front by an inch but it is not really. The front wheel arch is cut higher for turning raduis.

Ah, that makes sense. After looking at the sill panels, it does look even. Hmm, well, all I have left to worry about it that single popping sound when I turn the steering wheel...
