Do any of the high quality brake discs you've purchased or seen come covered in Comoline - waxy rust inhibitor.
Or is iot just the junk discs that are covered in cosmoline?

all rotors come rust protected. this wax needs to be cleaned before installing the rotors and driving the car.

OEM Mercedes brake discs for a C230 don't use the cosmoline but a primer like coating.
I was really curious about the cosmoline.
Anyone remove the primer on OEM mercedes discs before installing them.
Thanks 4 the reply.

the primer is ok. it is safe to leave it on and let it get removed while braking. other oily protectants must be removed prior to installation to avoid brake pad contamination.

that is true.. the waxy cosmoline crap needs to be cleaned off the surfaces of which the pad and rotor make contact.. but as for OEM mercedes brake discs and the primer.. this can be installed and then driven to remove the primer coating from the discs surface.. this way the rest of the disc is protected and will have less chances of rusting!
