Where is the charcoal cannister locate?

According to my info, it's behind the splash guard in the left rear wheel housing (jack the car up and take the wheel off).

hey my Mntc Manual states to replace this every few years,i understand that evaperated gases pass through it....mines probly never been done......what differences does it make if i dont change it....anyone know??

It will throw up a couple of trouble codes if the purge circuit encounters problems. Neither of mine have ever been done and no problems yet. I wouldn't worry about it.

I had this 1984 turbocharged volvo.. thing was a blast to drive!! anyways.. it had one of these canisters.. it had never been changed.. ever! and the car lasted 300,000 miles..
