trunk release button not working

Im having problem with my trunk release button it stopped working. When i open the trunk the red light on the release button is not lit. Can this be the switch or something major. Help pls. Thanks.

Can you use the button to open the trunk to begin with ..????


If the only problem that concern you is the light is not lit , the bulb in the switch might burn out.

When i press the release button it doesnt release the trunk. Its not only the light that concerns me..

when you pressed the button did you heard any noise at all in the trunk on the right side compartment (passenger side)..


it could be the vacumm motor not working or your vacumm line that connect to the trunk lock got disconnected somehow..


Also does the power door lock and head rest fold-down still in working order ?

Yes the power locks and headrest still works when you press the button.

open the trunkline on on the other side of the trunklid and inspect youtr trunk lock, there should be a vacuum hose connected to it. It functions just like a central door lock system , you need this to be connected so that you can open the trunk via the vacuum line (interior button) ;)
