Is replacing a speaker in a C43 DIY? I noticed that one of my rear deck speakers is rattling. I need a new speaker, but I am not really on good terms with my service department any more (a long story).
Could some one please tell me the speaker I need, where I could possibly get one, and give me some help.
I am sorry to be asking for so much, but my searches did not yield much at all.
Thank you in advance.

rattling? thats just acoustic problem aint it?
The only time you would change them is when it blew up (no sound comes out of it after checking the cables and connection)
or well.. your ear had been spoiled by an aftermarket product.
check it again if it happen to be just just rattling problem there are a lot of people here who had solve it.

Hmm, it could be. I had experienced speakers that have blown out, and I thought this was similar.
The speaker seems to be fine unless there is some bass. Then, the speaker buzzes. I don't remember the speakers ever being like this before.
What do you think?

if nothing else has changed it's likely the speaker. swap is not too difficult. search posts for instructions on popping out the deck grill - it comes right out after removing some screws. you'll need a torx screwdriver. also, there's a portion of the speaker assembly that needs to be removed in the trunk - I wouldn't know what to call it, or even what the hell it's supposed to do.

Thank you for your help. I took a look at those torx screwdrivers. They don't come too cheap.
I hope that it is just a loose speaker, but I have not had time to look at things recently. I am hoping I will not have to open things up.
Does anyone know the speaker I would need for my 1999 C43 (rear deck speaker)? I do not know the model info, etc.
