My good friends H&R and Bilstein are here to help people like YOU!

A larger wheel and tire combo would help too....you'll have less rubber and more rim.

all of the above, new larger rims, and springs/ shocks

What brands would you go with for each, I know quality isn't cheap, but the less $$$ the better. :)

Your stock setup looks so good to me it's a crying shame to get rid of it!

I'm sorry. I just think aftermarket rims look disgusting on a Benz. :(

I know I'm alone on this forum, but the most I'd go for is lowered about an inch all way around.

I love OZ Racing, and they are decently priced. They are on almost every F1, Rally, CART, Indy car, etc. They are also on many bling bling cars including tuners like Carlsson. Get some OZ wheels. They are all I consider and I myslef am on my fourth set. I suggest 17x7.5/F and 17x8.5/R.

As for suspension, I enjoyed H&R springs mated w/ Koni sport adhustables when I had my W202...

wouldn't this make the gap more noticable? it did on mine :(

the rolling road remains the same hence the actual diamter of the whole wheel doesn't change does it?

hay. I have the same car as you.. and I think the stock setup looks rad!! I often switch back to them for a month.. the tire and rims I have on it now are 17inch evoII rims.. with pretty beefy tires and it still looks lifted.. getting new rims without lowering your car wont do anything.. it would make it look dumb tho..

lower your car first.. then work on rims&tires...... or keep it stock.

Yes the rolling diameter is essentially the same, but having a larger wheel will look better since less rubber is present. Basically, it's an illusion thing. The rubber and the inner well almost blend together and having a larger wheel will make it less blended. Hope that made sense.

that is absolutly wrong.. I have the same thing done on my c230 as you stated above and it looks like my car is lifted compaired to the stock 16inch sport rims.

and above all.. I dont have really low profile tires compaired to others on teh board with the same size rim. the fronts are 215\45\17 and the rears are 245\40\17..

the sidewall on others I noticed would be 40 for front and 35 for rear.

well heres an edit.. I gave my post somet thought...and it might depend on the rim with the illusion that delsol is talking about.

here is a picture of my car with 17's and stock sport suspension.

There may be some truth to what you're saying, but I'm just stating my opinion. When I swithced from my 17's to 18's it looked pretty good, I was even thinking about not lowering it. Maybe cause my car is 040?

thats because your 16" has more sidewall and it flexed .

going from 16" to 17" you going to have stiffer side wall. Hence you might have the feeling the car raise a little bit.

But the concept just like Denlasoul mentioned , it is best to maintain the same rolling diameter if not as close to stock as possible. Otherwise your speedo might be off and your cruise control might now work properly.

Take it for example.
my 1997 C36. and possible plus 1 and plus 2 scenario
Stock size
17x7.5 - 225/45/17 = 20.98622" in diameter
17x8.5 - 254/40/17 = 20.85826" in diameter

18x8.0 - 225/40/18 = 21.54330" in diameter
18x9.0 - 255/35/18 = 21.51377" in diameter

18x8.5 - 253/40/18 = 21.70078" in diameter
18x9.5 - 265/35/18 = 21.65157" in diameter

19x8.5 - 235/35/19 = 22.23818" in diameter
19x9.5 - 265/30/19 = 22.12992" in diameter

Keep in mind these are the recommend tires sizing for any given width.

Now some of us might be able to use narowwer tires on any given width in order to (cheat) to fit the wheel on the car while the wheel/rim does not have the best offset setting.

PS: If you have the correct offset those sizes above will fit W202 with no problem (some fender rolling might still necessary).

H&R sport springs, bilstein sport shocks, AMG Monoblocks Aero 2, 18x8 front 18x9 back, classic good looks for the w202, and my personal favorite...

man, u gone rock climbing yet?

here's some h&r's, #3 pads, 1" h&r spacers in the rear. 17"incher momo's.

go with h&r if u're looking for a sporty ride. for me, eibachs r too soft and float alot, but just depends on what you want.
