stock stereo questions

couple of (stupid?) questions regarding the stock stereo w/the cd changer attached:

1. Is there a way to make the random shuffle all discs, not just the one playing?
2. Is there a way to see the amount of time played & left in a song, on the disc, etc.?

I can only answer the second question.
to see the elapsed time of the track, just press the fast forward button(do not hold), and it will show it.
