is there any way to improve the throttle responce, for example it feels real slow off the line and huge pedal movments result in not very much rpm movement

any power add-on part will help out. intake, exhaust, chip, higher atomization fuel injectors...

what about computer tuning i was told all cars are tuned to 75% of what they can do for the general public to used. i am interested in the fuel injectors can you explain more and sugesst where a good place to start would be ? what i can expect to gain how much it might cost ?

check the basics, Airfilter, spark plugs, etc. Change you diff fliud, tranny fliud, if you haven't already. Every little bit helps out a bit.

hey, what kinda benz u got? 280, 230, 220, 230K, 36, 43???

if u press the accelerator a bit, does the engine rev up or do u gotta press it alot for the engine to start revving up?

on my c220, i had to press the gas all the way to the floor before it'd pick up, this was because the throttle cable was loose, u can hand tighten it your self on the throttle body, just follow the cable to the end, u see a plastic screw.

check your fuel filter, plugs etc like 714guy said.

as for chip tuning, I dont think cars are detuned 25%, that means that a chip upgrade would yield about 50 hp on a c280. most cars are detuned about 5%, just to compesate for different fuel qality around the world.
as for the injectors, slightly higher flow rate and higher fuel atomization might yield better throttle response as well as slightly increased HP.
great place to figure out the injectors you need would be www.rceng.com go to the technical data section, and enter all the info and you will get the required flow rate. as for the brand, I would highly recommend accel, which is what I used on my C280.
but, as others said(and I forgot to mention), make sure your car is in tune, if you havent done a complete tuneup in a while, that would be a good start.

this is why I think the vdub 1.8t motor is such a bad ass daily driver ... its throttle is so touchy.. 1\8th of an inch on the gas and you go from 70-80mph in a few seconds! no joke!!

I think this is why maybe Mercedes went with a 1.8 supercharged motor from 2.3 liters.. 1.8 liters rev higher =)

i just did my air filter, 0w40 mobile one, it has platnium 4+ spark plugs, i removed the restrictors in my mass air, it sounds like i have a turbo now, as far as a tune up thats what my mechanic said air filter plugs thats it is this true ?

how can you tell if there is something wrong with the fly by wire throttle control ?

haha. I think thats funny :D If I was going 70 and I stepped on the gas for a few seconds I'd be doing over 100, but then again I don't have a c230;)

It's like a different car ; but as speedybenz was able to quantify with his analysis of timing advance/retard with it on or off (set to default), it does have drawbacks and safety issues to the engine if you run in areas of the country that reach extremely hot temperatures.

when i a performance driving i turn the A/C right off and only crack the window alittle for less wind resistance, the mobile one made a difference i will explore the ron93 setting
i live in canada so there will be no need for extream heat

how do you remove the restrictive part of the mas, that mesh platic part?

First you need the security torx bit to remove the sensor. Then just hit it out.

you remove the safety clip around it and take off the screen. I've done it, no difference, though.

sound difference produces deeper exhaust note and turbo like sound when you full throttle it

well I tried taking it off and I ended up breaking it... I got it all out and the metal mesh thing after it, I used a flat head screw driver to remove the ring, not too much of a sound change imo but I guess I need more time driving it, hopefully I didn't fuck anything up

does this turn on a check engine light? I really hope I didn't ruin my mass cause my check engine light just came on after I did this, like 20 miles after.... DAMNIT

unless you damaged the sensor film, the CEL will not come on because of it.

This actually helped out a lot. Although for my car it was not easy. I had to use pliers to tighten it. The worst part I barely had room. My throttle response is waaaaay better.

Thanks!
