Hello,

Thinking about these but don't know how they would look. What do you think?

I thought I saw someone on here with them fitted or something very similar? Anyone remember?

DRM,
That looks like a W211 replica, right?
You're from Oz? Where exactly? I used to live in Sydney, Rooty Hill/Minchinbury area.
Haven't seen that wheel on any 202s yet. I kinda like rims with some lip. But that may look cool, too.

Yea those are replicas of the W211 wheels, and 2phast I believe posted pics of them on 500E...

Okay cool, because $1600 AU with tyres fitting etc seems to be a pretty good price.

C280Rookie I am in Canberra area. Sydney is pretty good hey? Why did you move?

Hey DRM,
Canberra, eh? How's it going down there mate? Are you a Raiders fan? Mate, haven't been following rugby league now.
I moved because I got married and my wife lives here in Southern California. Been living here for a few years now, and maybe next year we can visit Oz. My wife hasn't been there yet,and she's excited to go. Maybe next year, we're having our first baby in a couple of weeks, so can't fly this year.
Regards to all the 202ers down there.
What suspension set up do you have? I am about to replace/upgrade my shocks and I am thinking of lowering it too.

Yeah Canberra is okay, nah I don't follow league much anymore, not enough fights haha. I am guessing there are far more impressive cars getting around in Cali than in Australia? Unfortunately I will need to buy some shocks as well, and I definately want it lowered heh.

Not enough fights? Hmmm, rugby league has gotten soft, heh? ;)

Yeah, a lot more nice cars here, but a lot crowded, too. I sometimes prefer the drive down the M5, than most freeways here. Plus, I think the highways and motorways have a smoother surface.

Glad to know you're thinking of lowering your car too.
Any ideas on what setup you're planning?
So far, I have gotten very good feedbacks on H&R, Eibach, and Vogtland springs. For shocks, I think I will just get Bilstein sports.
Konis are more expensive.
Hopefully soon I can start my suspension upgrade.
What model 202 do you have?

Yeah the motorways are pretty good over here I guess. I don't really know anything about the suspension set up I am going to get, only from what I have read on here which is to get H&R, Eibach and some Bilstein sport shocks so any advice is good.

I have a 1997 C180, looking to go C280 soon so I am weighing up adding this stuff or saving the money for the C280.

DRM,
I also get advice here for suspension setup recommendations. I am still saving up for new shocks & springs.
I haven't driven the C180 but I kinda think that may be a bit underpowered, right? If I were you, I'd save up and get a 280, although petrol nowadays is pretty expensive. How much is 98(or 95) there now?

Yeah the C180 is pretty slow sometimes, but I have never driven any other c class so I have nothing to compare it to apart from an e320 but yeah it's horribly slow compared to that. I think I am paying $1.50 for 98 at the moment heh.

I haven't driven an E320, but I guess with the size & weight of the E, the C280 might be comparable. The C280 will be more powerful, but with $1.50 for 98, it won't be cheap! :D

I am paying $3.15(US) here for a gallon, so that's about 4 litres, and with exchange rates, that's around $1.05(AU). But it's only a 91. I remember, I use the 91 for our old lawn mower. :D

Good luck to your future mods, and keep in touch when you get a C280. Have you thought of the W203s, too?

Yeah and they just keep on rising heh. I will, and about w203's if I was to buy one it would have to be a C180 as the others are quite expensive.
