well driving to work this part was sticking out of the drivers side of my sunroof and was hitting my head. it just kinda fell out when i grabbed it so it was not attached to anything. i had to run into the office so i dident have time to test the roof or anything just snapped a quick pick with my cellphone...

any suggestions?

oh and i know i use my front seat foot area for a trash bin during the week

Thanks !

That's a strip that goes down the top side of your sunroof door (that vinyl-covered door on the inside that you close to keep the sun from burning your scalp). It has 2 of those strips, one on the right, one on the left. One of mine has been missing for years.

Frankly, I wouldn't even worry about it.

It's not part of any moving parts and has nothing to do with your sunroof itself. Looks like it does nothing more than keep friction up between your sunroof door and it's track (seperate from the sunroof track) so that the door doesn't slide open when you take off or close when you brake.

At first i was thinking someone was trying to rip off your car as it looks like a "slim jim" :p

But obviously, my bad interpretation!

yea theres heaps of un-necessary thin tin parts in the sunroof assembly. so if it still works fine it cant have been any "major load bearing part" :)
