I was wondering what do you guys think about 2 tone paint jobs? My car is in the shop ready to get panted but, I was thinking about painting my car black and silver from my original white paint. Black on top and silver on the bottom. The break between each color would be the body line crease of the side of the car. I will be running some black rims for this paint scheme. Do you guys think this would be tight or don't do it and paint it just one color. I just wanted to do something different. Maybe different might be the wrong answer. Your would opinions would help alot. Thanks

I think it would really depend on what kind design you go with. 2-tone paint can either be cool, or really really awful.
Black on the roof, hood, and trunk might look like pseudo-CF, and might work well. White doors and roof with black elsewhere would not be a good combo...:p
It's kind of tough for me to visualize what you're describing...perhaps someone can PS some ideas for you.

I think that you should paint it one color. Although its up to you, I'm an art major and I was taught in my color, textile class that it really depends on the lines and curves of the object that you dealing with. The things is that with the W202 body style it has a very conservative appeal to it, by painting it two tones you would create more then just a bold statement on the car. What im trying to say is that you would never see someone like Simon Cowel from American Idol wearing Roca Wear or G-Unit clothing. Its just not the type of taciness that would be seen on something so refined! But this is just my opinion its really up to you. If you wanna see wat it would look like before hand take a pic of your car then scan it into your Comp. and play with the colors on it with adobe or something!

im really not into changing the color from what it was from the factory...but if i were to do it, it would be monochromatic & black

well when you bought a w202 you bought a sporty yet elegent car, a benz isnt a hardcore sports car, look at the c43 for example ausome engine, yet classy looks with a hint of sportiness, so i would go for a monotone metalic painting leave the 2 tone paint job for american and japaneese moded cars..then again thats just me

Well here are pics of my car and an example of the design I would like to try. As you can see my cars exterior is already highly modded. I know that the Mercedes w202 has a classy look already but I'ts already to late for me. That's why I wanted to go 2 tone. In the example, the vehicle has the black on the bottom and silver on top. I would like this scheme to be reversed. Plus it stops and goes down near the front tire. I would like mine not to stop until the headlights. My grill of the car will be changing into the Advantgarde and will be painted black. Also what do you guys of Gun Metal instead of silver. If I do paint the car 1 color I will paint it most likely GunMetal Grey

You know what two tone scheme I always wanted to see on a Benz?
This one:

Might be a bit mild for you, but the Blue's pretty striking as an accent color.
Sorry no better picture...but all i could find at the moment

Here's a car my dad painted, it's just been sanded to get ready for buffying. I think it's the same color combination you want. The only difference is that the balck has diamond pearl and the silver also has pearl. I can't remember what the the actual colors are called. You would have a better idea once it's buffed.http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/7/web/1855000-1855999/1855532_62_full.jpg

i would change out the front grille to the normal one without the benz logo, lose the eyelids or paint em black, lose the window visors or leave em smoked clear, take off all those stickers on the skirts, and decide on either black or white moldings throughout the car... so far you have black or CF door moldings and white bumper moldings, doesnt match that well
im not hating, the car looks nice, but could look SOOOOOOOOO much cleaner, right now too much is going on

what i would do is get a black hood, black roof, black trunk and leave the rest gun metal silver, paint the eyelids black, and get a black grill, smoke the rear lights, and u have a beuty, thats how i would do it, i saw this on an m3, and a SL except the SL had a glass hood (tinted black glass were its kinda black but u can c the big 6.0 red engine) and he had a black roof, and black glass trunk i got pics if u want
