Happened to my W202 at the gym - some fool scraped it moving into or out of a parking space next to mine then took off. I dont know what you deuctible is but for me it wasnt worth going through insurance. I ended paying cash to fix it. Sorry man! :dpress:

BTW, can you tell what color the car was that scraped against yours? He probably knows someone there or lives there and will be back parking right around the same area after he thinks you forgot. For now, he will probably park away and just walk to whoever's place he was going to. Walk around your complex and look for your paint scraped onto a car colored the same color of whatever scraped off into your car (i.e., if its gold paint scraped onto your car - look for a slightly damaged gold car with your black paint scraped onto it).

It probably wont do anything for you legally if you find a match, but you can always take the law into your own hands (ie., test how strong a brick is to the windshield)

Man, that sucks. I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like it may cost over $500 and I want to emphasize on "over". The scratches look like they may have gone down to the metal in some spots, which means that it will definitely have to be repainted. There needs to be some body work done to the bumper, which has plastic scapings showing, and the quarter panel will need to be pulled out slightly and some minor bodywork done to it. You may be able to get away with buffing some areas, but not all of it. The whole quarter panel definitely must be reapinted. If you only paint the areas that were scratched you will be able to tell that it was repainted. So I would have the whole thing done, unless you are informed differently by the place you take it to. Remember you will always know if something is not right. It might not be that bad because I'm looking at a photo and not in person, but you never know.

It looks like you had the lips and the side skirts molded to the body of the car. If I were you I would take it to them and see if they could do it. It looks like they did a good job.

It's stock C36 body kit. ;) no molding into the bumper. That totally suck. Thats one reason y I want to sell my car. I couldn't bear to come out and see damage done by some stupid drunk college kid

yea u can see metal on the scratches, no detailing job will cover that and i will ALWAYS see it and know its there. but for now Im still gonna pissed everyday until those are gone. Im gonna try to get a quote tomorrow and see how much its gonna cost. if its alot ill pay my deductible and get that crap repainted. and i WILL keep searching this damn parking lot for MY paint on whoevers car.

I had similar area but worse damage to my black 202 back in 2000.

A truck interlocked it's bumper with mine and pulled it halfway off, and I had deeper damage in the fender. my bill back in 2000 was $2600. You look to easily have half as much damage as mine.

So really not that bad.

Make sure your tire wasn't scrapped.

that is never going to happen...I have never seen people driving that bad on such large scale as in the US...but, hey...what can one expect in a country where people get their driving license at 16 without any proper schooling.

sucks what happened to your car...I know how that feels...

I agree totally, especially here in Washington. Glad I went to driving school instead of driver's ed. :D
