Will 18x8 ET 31 and 18x9 ET 35 fit my C43

I've found some AMG mono block 18x8 ET 31 and 18x9 ET 35 in good shape and reasonably priced.

I am planning to put 245/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rear.

I've search the forums and I haven't been able to find the definitive word about whether these will fit my C43.

From what SpeedyBenz posted, it looks like the rear fenders will need to be "spread", not sure about the front.

Oh, my car isn't lowered, not really interested in lowering it as the front lip already scrapes in a couple of corners in my drive home 

I think your tire size may be a little bit too agressive.

The wheels will fit just fine. I am currently running those on my lowered C43.

I do not think that 245F and 275R tires will fit though. Typically, with those wheels, a 225-235F and 255-265R are the tire sizes people use.

i also think it would be fine. front might rub a bit but if u roll the fender it should rub less.. 31 is cutting close

usually with a fender roller tool, but a bat will work also :)

This is probably a stupid question (newbies showing!), but I would assume that if done right and not too extreme it wouldn't require a paint job...

Anyone can recommend a shop that might be able to do this in the SF Bay Area? What's the typical cost?

usually the paint is heated up with heat gun to soften the paint so it can be bent which keeps the paint from cracking

yea the rims should fit, but as said the tires you mention may be a bit too wide for your rim,
i run a 18*8 rim with 225 front and 235 rear, and in my veiw you wouldnt want to go any wider than 235 on a 8" rim. and yea as said also the guards can be rolled without painting, i rolled myne with a bat on a hot day and it turned out ok without repaint

look at my siggy, i run 225 40 18 front 265 35 18 rear 18x8 front 18x9 rear

only rub is on full turn lowered with eibach pro kit #1 pad front #2 rear i still have 1 finger gap in front and 3 almost 4 in rear

The combination 18 x 8 -> 245/40/18 and 18x9 -> 275/35/18 is the standard setup on the E55 (2000 model). So I assume the tire / wheel combinations are right.

245/40/18 are very large tires and would most likely rub on the inside guards quite a lot at the front.
thats my understanding.

Run on the inside guards... I was worried about rubbing on the fenders on the outside...

oh ok, rolling fenders is an easy mod tho
when i lowered my car it rubbed on the inside and the outside.
And the outside rubbing was by far the easyiest fix, the inside required some sledgehammer action :-)

Ideally the best tyre size is

225/40/18 Front
255/35/18 on the rear.

That is what I am running and most others that I know in the UK. Combination works fine with no rubbing even when loaded.

all you guys running the 225 front 255 rear how do you find the large rear tire effects handling. does such a large rear tire change your car to understeer more.
I found that 225 front 235 rear gave pritty even to slight oversteer, but i would expect a larger rear tire would equate to more understeer.
when i had 225 all round it had a bit snap oversteer with now 235 rear it is starting to even up, but i would expect with even wider you would get understeer.
i am an oversteer fan and are debating this verse geting wider rear tires.

hey i'm running 18" monos on my c43. 225/40/18 front 255/35/18 rear. no rubbing. i'm thinking about selling them and getting something lighter or maybe even going smaller. my car seemed to drive quicker w/ stock 17's.
