depends on what you mean by cheap ??, and how cheap, but if u have about 1000 bucks i would suggest headers and a chip, new exhaust and filter

I dont think you will be getting exhuast, headers, chip and filter for 1000 bucks haha

What do you mean by "cheap"?

Cheap is diffrent in everybodys checkbook.

Im Thinking K&N filters or a custom CAI.

Perhaps some high flow cats, Free flowing muffler.

-cheap

-powerful

-reliable

Pick two, and the third one is what it wont be

OK then what do you think I would need to spend and do to get around 330-350BHP?

but on the cheap front, weight reduction is another method for performance gain. keep this in mind.
I am no expert with the c43 but a few things which may come to mind are
Under drive pully will help
a more free flowing exhaust system (read: generally louder) some ppl around here have seen 20+hp gains from a better exhaust which is a very impressive gain (but ant that chaep)
possibly a nice pod filter with a cold air intake.
-and a nice semi wild cam will do wonders. (not sure on the availability or price for a cam for your car)

But im sure some people will pitch in with personal experience
good luck

Just contacted a local guy he can re map it for for me and de limit it for £300 thats 31.5BHP gain and 28LB/ft torque.

What is the torque figure for the standard C43?

not true...do a search on speedybenz's project car and in the details you'll see plenty of engine mods done on the cheap...

what's not cheap is buying off the shelf "tuner" mods...put a little effort into things yourself, and there's plenty to be done without dumping boatloads of cash.

N2O. You can buy many of the pieces you need used. A nice little 50 shot should be safe and fun.

Now there is a thought. Anyone got experience of sticking N20 on a 43 :D :D

Oh and a guy www.mbclub.co.uk said when he had his E55 Chipped he also removed the front muffler and replaced it with a straight through pipe.

Any one else done this. I would imagine it should help as the exhaust would become more free flowing.

Where and how much can I find one of these kits for?????

And regarding the topic remember "you have to pay, to play"
and I wouldnt skimp on any engine parts cause what you save now, you might be paying later with hefty repair bills. Just my .02 cents.

I would look for speedybenz's posts.

Things like, UD pullys, better intake, and the cheapest of all mods would be to lose weight (car weight). Lighter battery (save 40 pounds), wheels, take out the full size spare, etc.

Speedy got 250 pounds off, I think 100 pounds = 10 hp.

Headers and chip would be good also, but I've read that MB's re-program the chip or something.

Speedy was working on a chip that can be adjusted on the fly.

perhaps I said it wrong ... was saying the price he said you could get headers + all else for is not a price we can get it at, so don't make it like it is so cheap and we're schmuks for paying 3X - 4X more.

What air filters are people using on there C43 / 55's :D

Standard K&N, Green Coton? Are there any induction Kits available.

Also are there any other top covers for the engine instead of the ugly black plastic?

Thanks

I have seen a few individuals make a carbon fiber covers in limited production runs. Never saw a price, never saw a product... just forum posts ala "Im making them"

so in the end who knows.
