Because they're not ment to be cut.... Have you seen some of the imports that were bouncing all over the place over little bumps? Thats because they cut their stock springs. Its not going to have the right stiffness. You can go ahead and try with them cut, but you'll be happier to do things right and get a whole new suspension setup...

sounds pretty much what i have been hearing all along, i would rather play it safe than sorry no matter how much cheaper it is

You own a Mercedes dont spoil it with cost cutting mods like cutting springs.

Not too mention the loss in ride quality and handling. Stick your hand in your pocket! Spend the money on a decent lowering kit.

The labor to replace springs is about 3-4 hours. I rather replace the spring with a lowering spring since I want to do it once and do it right.

For application guide:

They do not differentiate between sport and elegance model. The difference is between different engine types.

well sport springs are harder and shorter than the elegance... cutting may esult in a big deal of damage to ur car because ur shortening a soft spring so any hard cornering or bumps ull just bounce .... so DON'T cut springs i ordered mine for a c36 and the car now looks funny its high from the front.... (i intenionally ordered them for a c36 cause the new engine (C36) is coming in an replacing the old 4 banger)

nope i am selleing the OEM sport springs for a c230, the one i got for me are for the c36, it is heigh from the front because the four cyl engine is lighter than the 6 cyl engine that should be in.
