whats up guys, i have a problem with my new rims. when ever i go over a dip my front tire rubs in my inner fender and causes damage to my tire. the front tire is 225/40/18 by an 8.5 rim with a 10mm spacer. it only does it in the front right tire. i went to some guy and i told his to roll my fender and he told me that we cant do anything about it because we are going to cause damage to the fender??? what can i do.

Maybe you can remove the spacers you have to reduce how far the wheels protrude out, and when you do the fender flares you have waiting to install, do it right and cut out a bit of the old fenders so the new fender flares form the new fender wall. This way to can run W-I-D-E wheels no problem. BUt until you cut open the fender and put on the flares, I would say just remove the 10mm spacers you have to reduce how far out your wheels go.
Another thing to do is rent a fedner rolloer from Tirerack and roll your fenders yourself. Here is a write-up on how to do it...

hah funny, i have the EXACT same issue, 10mm spacer, right front only. For me its hitting the back part of the bumper and scratching some metal which i have no idea where and causes some damage to the tire itself. No solution but to only run a stock 17 x 7.5 monoblock. To everyone... avoid running a 10mm spacer in front its just too much trouble.
yep same thing happened to me to...on the right front...
i rolled my guards, but it was the sharp edge where the bumper meets the guard that was damaging the tire...this part is hard to roll as the shape doesnt allow it,so i took out the mini grinder....

Do you know the front wheel offset?
10mm might be too much.

i dont know the offset. the tires look nice with the spacer but i dont want to fuck up my tires! i think im going to try to roll them with the roller. i was also thinking if i get a ruber hammer and hit the iner lip of the fender whould that work???

Having the correct wheel and offset combo is the key to have the best setup. for example if your offset is -35mm with 10mm spacers, then the final offset is -25 which is too low. You need 30-35 to clear both the shock and fender nicely.

you could hit it with a rubber hammer but i wouldnt reccomend it cos the job may be uneven, if you dont want to do it with a guard roller you can use a bat. i think slammed_c is talking about this in body mods, have a look

you should do some massive rolling like speedy benz, that would be sweet

Please install them right (i.e., for function) and cut out the stock fender underneath them so you open up the fender area. THats what the flares are for. There was someone here who put his flares over the untouched stock fenders and it made no sense - it was just for show and it formed like a 1" thick fender wall. Kinda whack. Make sure you body shop hacks away the fender so the flares accomodate you wheels, then you wont have to roll your fenders or remove spacers. Heck, you could probably even run wider wheels than you already have.
I will be sooooo upset if you just put the flares on over the original fenders without cutting away what the flares replace. I will cry.

10mm spacer in the front 18 by 8.5 and a 18 by 9.5 in the back. 225/40/18 front and 245/40/18 in the back.

does your front tires rub with the bolt from the shock struts and make noise more from the right? i have the same setup but when i put the 5mm spacers i have it barely touches the bolt that i said..any suggestions or solutions?
Cheers!

only my front right tires rubs on the inner lip of the fender but im going to cut my fenders and put on my fender flares for more clearance. but before i did these wheels i also had again 8.5 in the front and i had no problems. it didnt rub the way it does now! but for every problem their is a solution!!!!!;)

all u have to do is get a rotozip or dremel and cut the fender in sections, then use vise grips or something to bend the fender lip up into the wheel well, use some painters tape to try to avoid paint chips
