I know there are a bunch of threads out there with information, how-to's, pictures, questions, etc. about illuminated door sills, but I have just recently installed (finally) my set of door sills and I think that the job deserves it's own thread.
First, after reading many other's it still seems that at times the directions are incomplete. Plus everyone has them wired a different way. Some to the dome light, some to the door switch, others turn on all at once when one door is opened, and so forth. I thought long and hard about this and decided that I wanted each door to work just when that door is opened. Next, I wanted to take power directly from the battery and not tap into some 12v wire along with connecting its own fuse to the whole system. To do all of this took many hours and once done we still ran into problems.
The dome light would not go off and when locking the car the lights would not blink three times. As a result we took the car apart agiain, removed rear seats, pulled panels for each sill to get to the door pin, etc, and was finally able to get it to work correctly. Well, enough of the story, here are the pics. These were taken pretty quick along different stages of the process, are not highly detailed, but display what was intented. Enjoy.
