Hey 202ers,
I've just installed some 18x8.5 wheels all round with a stock suspension setup. After installing it yesterday, I realised that both the front bolts from the suspension struts was in contact with the tires when it made like a rubbing noise. So this morning I bought a pair of 5mm spacers for the front and installed it and the noise became much much less...My problem is that i have a set of h&r sports springs on the way with #3 pads and the tire shop owner said that if I install it, the front would rub big time...when i asked him is there any way that i could lower the car, he said nope...i know he's talking shit so thats why I came up with this question to u w202 experts out there!

CheerS!

i had a 18 by 8.5 in the front with 225/40/18 and i didnt have any problems. i also have done a big brake upgrade and i had no problem. now that i did the 10mm spacer to clear my caliper my tire rubs on my fender. i still have an 8.5 rim in the front!

you dont need the spacer with that offset, i was running 40 mm offset with 19x8.5 and also i had ET 39 with 18x8.5 before too.... no rub, maybe on full turn a little bit
I am lowered on H&R too

What tire are you running?

i'm running 225/40/18s all round...i'm prolly gonna roll th frnt fenders and put a 10mm spacers in the front to avoid the 'strut bolt' thats in contact with my tire

To save the pain of another similar thread, should 18x8.5 with a 34 offset be fine for my 95 C36 AMG at the front? Need to place my order this week! :D
