the better question is how much on repairs I have had the car for just under 3 years and have spent well over 10000 dollars in repairs it getting pretty close to what I paid for the car

Abuimad
10-19-2005, 05:33 AM
1400 rimms
600 amg body kit (used not installed or painted yet)
200 w203 used blinking mirrors (not installed yet)
100 dollars for trunk lip (not installed yet)
500 dolalrs for bixenon
10 dollars for smoking rear lights
170 dolalrs to paint the silver parts on my car and for polishing

809 dollars for service and changing of 4 disks, and brake callipers, and other small fixes...
500 dolalrs to change my radiator, and compressor and ac tubing (for air condition)
300 dollars for battery faults
150 dolalrs to lower my car
100 for painted grill

and i know there is more i just cant remember
and the stuff that are not installed yet, are waiting to be painted,

Man:eek:
Looking at those prices i think i have been getting off very lightly with my car.

costs
Repairs:
only front and rear brake pads $350

um oh yea i gave it a dent in the back corner but that doesnt count really....

mods-
-i painted my skirts and door handles myself 100$
lowering set-up $500
tints $150
odmints tray 40$
roof recovered 150$
theres more that i cant think of now

But it has been cheap and good to me, i may be one of the lucky ones :)

p.s Abuimad i like that proper tinted picture in your sig= looks heaps beta

too much lately I have spent a lot on repairs

new mas - 290
oem rotors and pads 400
tranny flush 170
had cam sensor changed
my ac light is out
fuel filter and fuel line - 300
new plugs and wires and air filter - 200
align tires - 170

here are outside mods I want to do in the long term...
Lorinser body kit 2-3k
mono 2+ tires -2k
blinking folding mirrors - 800 installed
xenon lights retro- oem with self leveling and wipers - 2000 installed
smoked tail lights custom job - 30?
updated trunk lid - 300
chromed door handles - 200?
massive rolled fenders + some inner lineing removed and fenders bent out - 350
detailing - 80
brabus puddle lights - 500

I am going to need a ton of money.... plus I think a lot of these are over estimated...

but I will one day finish all those mods... I am currently trying to figure out what oem door sills are out there so I can get them.... will make a buy on that in the next few weeks, still waiting on the last part for the puddle lights

I just hit 96k but I seriously think I am good for a while besides oil changes, everything that commonly goes wrong has been changed, besides tranny, and that will be flushed in another 6 months so hopefully it lasts

Kit - $800 with paint
Rims - still in progress
Suspension - $ 90
Exhaust Tip - $80
Steering Wheel - $1000
Leather Seat - Still in progress

Remember that the labor cost here is so darn cheap man thats how i got the figure.

Ashkan's C280
10-19-2005, 08:56 AM
labor cost for me comes very close to the price of the products, so I have to end up waiting to install everything at once to save around 20%

the install is very hard to acomplish without having a complete nose cut. the elecetrics are very tricky too. i have a professional garage that does this work. its not for the faint hearted. labor costs is in the $1700 and parts in the $3000-$5000 range.

Thats all I can think of right now, Im always changing this or that. I'll probably roll around like this for a little bit longer and change it up again sooner or later. I get bored and tired of mods very quickly and always like a new look. :D I know I should have just bought a C43 to start with and do all this stuff, but I bought this car as my beater and now im in too deep.

No particualr reason. I put those 19" AMGs on our CLK55. I just got bored of the look and wanted new wheels. 20" fit, but offset and tire size either makes it or breaks it. I also rolled, cut, dremeled, and flared out the fenders as much as I could without having to repaint the panels. My car is SLAMMMED and I only get rubbing when I have 2 passengers in the car. And when it does rub, its rubbing on plastic, nothing serious, just a little annoying to hear. When I am by myself or with only 1 person, its fine.

I got hooked up. When I ordered my kit, we did like a GB and ordered a 5 kits from WALD. Not all W202, it was a mix and match of different models so we all could get better pricing. A while back, I posted all this stuff on here, some people were interested but never threw up the $$$ for it. So, I went on and found other people and got it going. My friend owns a bodyshop, so for paint and body work he gives me good prices. I also got a partial sponsorship from Starshield. That is around what I paid, but I know some peeps. :D

No, it wouldnt do anything and Bi-xenon costs about $120-150 more than the normal kit. You only buy a Bi-xenon if your High, lows, or fogs share the same bulb. its basically a dual filament bulb for xenons. The W202 uses an H7 for the lows, H1 for fogs, I dont remember the high beam size, but it is not the same as either. I put a HID kit on my friends G35 coupe and his foglights and high beams used the same bulb, so i ordered the Bi-xenon so his fogs/highs were also xenon. Buy a standard H7 kit and you'll be set.

J Irwan
10-25-2005, 05:30 PM
If I were you I would stay away from the BiXenon kit that uses dual fillament in the bulb....

As the long term durability is not guaranteed.

Think about it xenon bulb doesn't have a filament.
The when the 2 electrode in the bulb powered up the inert (Xenon) gas inside will get hot and emit bright white light.

And these process take sometime, it take couple second to charge up real Xenon bulb. Hence you will see that Xenon headlight is a dimmer for the first couple second compare to halogen when its first powered up.

The true Bi-Xenon headlight that is used by known Automobile manufacture, such as BMW, MB, Audi, Bentley, Porsche etc has the 1 single bulb in the low beam housing. (just light regular xenon unit), However the reflector unit change position (when you flip the high beam switch) which cause different angle to project the light at higher angle....

Also keep in mind in the W202 headlight housing (xenon headlight unit and halogen unit) have their low beam projector engineered to reflect the light at certain angle (the correct angle for low beam pattern). If you put more light into this reflector it will not cause the beam pattern to change (from low beam to high beam)...

So you see, it is pointless to put more light on this low beam reflector..as it won't do you any good..

If you want to get Xenon get the OEM, (if you search this website, you will see many of us had learned the hardway getting HID retrofit (ballast and bulb) into halogen housing and resulted in poor control of lightning (blinding the oncoming motoris) and un-focussed light pattern...

Hope this helps.

Regardz,

Yea i saw that some of the 202er's had retro fitted ones. I would go the OEM Bekkers one but thats a little pricey!(which was my first choice) Thought I could save some money but I'll think about that later.
