need help with car audio

guys,
long story short, my dvd unit got stolen a while ago right before i left the country for a job. i need to get it fixed. this time around i don't want a dvd unit anymore since it's a feature rarely used. i want something that sounds good with my mostly classical/jazz collection.

so, still with a bit of heartache and almost somewhat unwillingly, i need a site to learn about car audio. any suggestions? also, ran cross a used set of mcintosh head, D/A, and CD changer in the city i am in today for about $1800. what do u guys think?

well, an update to this. the guy who sells the setup in my city here is a bit shady. so i decided to get it in the US. got a 3 month old McIntosh MX406 with D/A built in around $600. it should arrive in the apartment of my care taker for the car this week. hopefully installation will be handled and by the time i get back i can listen to it and slowly heal my mental wounds of loosing my audio and window.
