View Full Version : Transmission Oil Cooler

Car loosing water and I thought it was the radiator. Decided after topping up with water a few time and its getting pretty dam cold I should actually see where the fault was.

Well it was this

Its up in the drivers wheel arch and is the transmission oil cooler.

Any one access to a price from the US?

Are you sure that's the transmisison cooler, it looks a lot more like an engine oil cooler. The trans cooler is more likely integrated into the radiator. What year and model do you have? C43's have the oil cooler just like that in front of the right front tire area.

this can be confusing becuase he is from UK and he drives on the other side.

So when he says the drivers side its the passanger side for us.

Looks like the oil cooler to me

Its a 99 I was thinking Oil Cooler the phoned my local Mercedes Dealer and asked where the Oil cooler was. He said next to the oil filter. I the emailed the picture on this site and he called me back saying it seems to be the transmission cooler.

He also sent this from the EPC.

It seems to be part No 5

That is exactly where mine is though right front tyre. :confused:
