Has anyone put 19"s on their w202 and had problems with the front wheels rubbing on the wall of the wheel well in front of the tire? for now i just took it off, it was only 3 little screws..... on another note ... do you think it is possible to lower my car about an inch?Click this for my CarDomain site!! If you are intending to keep the car for sometime, I recommend fender rolling. Definite! or else you have to practice how to take a wider turn...

BTW, does the rubbing problem arise from your car that looks like what it is in the link?

get some springs and roll the fenders and all ur problems should be gone, well maybe not gone, but they will be reduced significantly

The rubbing problem you have is usually, if not always caused by the tire size, either the wrong size or a bit of a compromise size. What size are you using?

The front tires are 8.5" wide with a 235/35/19 tire

its not rubbing against the fender , it rubs against the plastic wheel well lining in front of the tire, and only when the wheel is cranked all the way

235/35/19 is simply too big. Ultimately it is the overall diameter that is doing it. I know precisely the rubbing you mention, as my wife's car did it all summer with 235/45/17. A better size for your car is 235/30/19, which would bring the diameter (and circumference) down closer to stock.

For reference, an acceptable stock size is 205/60/15, which gives a diameter of roughly 627mm

AMG used 225/45/17 on the front of my C36, giving an approximate diameter of 634mm

I am running 225/35/18 currently, with a dia. of approx. 615mm

All of these will clear the plastic liner at the front when the wheels are turned, but not by much. Your 235/35/19 have an approx. dia. of 647mm, which is just a hair too big. My wife's 235/45/17 rubbed at 643mm. The measurements I have given are simply calculated from the tire size, and different brands are different, but I think you can see what I mean.

I took off the plastic lining in the front and now it is open to the inside of the bumper where the fog light plug(with multiple wires) is. When it rains the water will for sure be sprayin on the plugs... Do you think it will short out the fog's if water gets in the plug? has anyone ever done this?

NO

the correct diameter for the 8.5 wheels is 225/35/19

you need a skinner tire

the rear will use a 30 series rubber if you are using staggard setup

Sorry, yes, the 225 is a better choice. And I just came in from an Italian tuneup on my C36, and I am in fact running 225/40/18, not 225/35/18 as I stated earlier. 235 will also come just a bit too close for comfort with the 35mm offset to the bolt for the upper ball joint for my liking, although no matter how hard I pushed my wife's car, I found no evidence that it ever actually made contact.
