It's not a sports car, but it's a lot better than 100k mile stockers. It's still comfortable. =)

The W202 has a really good weight balance and predictability overall, you don't really need to compensate with an excessively stiff shock. Better sways would probably help. That's next.

If you remove the trunk side interior pieces (held on each by three clips), it will reveal the top of the shock mount. At that point it's the same thing as the front. Nothing special needed.

Getting the stocker out was much easier after unbolting the sway bar endlink, as it is kind of in the way when sliding the bottom side of the shock out.

On a side note, I found it particularly annoying that when torquing the lock nut on the Bilstein, the whole assembly has a tendency to turn, even when using an impact wrench. The only way around that was holding the top of the shock while tightening the nut with an open wrench.

But pretty much straightforward. I'd say took about an hour to do the rear.

In the sense that you can have them re-valved by a professional, yes.
